EMAIL MARKETING GLOSSARY


Here is the list of email marketing words that use frequently in online world. 

Above-the-fold – Part of email visible in your email without scrolling.

AIDAS – Attention, interest, desire, action, satisfaction. 

Calls to Action – Words that encourage visitors to take action on it.

Campaign – A coordinated set of email marketing message at regular intervals with overall objective.

Click-through – Visitor takes an action and click on your link. To determine click through rate, divide the number of responses to the number of emails opened and multiply this number by 100 that result in percentage is click through rate. 

Content- all the copy, graphics and pictures go into the presentation

CPA (or Cost per acquisition) - A payment model in which payment is basically depends on a number of acquisition or registration. 

CPM (or Cost per thousand) – A payment model in which cost given on per 1000 names. For example $300 CPM means list owner will give $o. 3 per email address.

Email Marketing – Marketing of information through email.

Ezine- An electronic magazine delivered through email or website. 

Hard bounce – Failed delivery due to permanent reason like non existence of address. 

Soft bounce– Failed delivery of email due to temporary issues like full email box. 

HTML email– Email that is written in hypertext markup language not as plain text email.

KISS – In email marketing "Keep it Simple, Stupid" to keep the information clear and simple.

Landing Page –Email marketing landing page means page to which email directs visitor through links.

List host- A service provider who manages email campaign, distribute a high volume of mail and manage it properly. 

Now a day’s these terms are very common in use, many online marketing campaign firm, SEO services company, ezine article use these words frequently.
